Z19 From Beijing to Xian

This time we decided to avoid riding the plane (too much of it on a yearly basis anyway) and give the train a try between Beijing and Xian: eleven hours ride, leaving Beijing at 21:30 and arriving in Xian at 8:30. Around 400 CNY each for a 4-berth soft sleeper cabin: not too expensive, quite clean and comfortable. I would actually recommend it: more fun than the plane, more comfortable and no airport hassle! As you can see from the photos, the train platform was quite empty. The reason being that only persons with a ticket can enter the station. Also in case you are wondering, the storage area for the luggage is located above the door (took us sometime to find it). Finally, do not expect to look through the window and admire the landscape as it is too dark outside to see a thing for most of the trip.
