Mountain Roads

Given the right car and the right amount of traffic, driving in the mountains of Japan can be a lot of fun. My favourite one is the Nihon Romantic Highway near Nikko: a one way road up the mountain, two lanes for yourself, pure fun ! That wasn’t romantic though : on the way down from Yugama, nice road but too much traffic… and more importantly : a strong stench of sulfur !
