Had the pleasure to drive a Lexus RX450h for 650km during the weekend and I have just published my review on Nihoncar.
90km compressed in 8min – enjoy the ride ! A pity youtube does not support 60fps, this looks so much nicer with a high frame rate. Vimeo does, but at $10 a month, it’s a bit steep !
And the driver wasn’t shy with his instrument :)
A few shots taken during a Rickshaw ride in the streets of Bangalore. Having lived and driven in China for 3 years, I had thought that I could easily cope with the traffic in India. But I was so wrong ! The mess is of a totally different magnitude.
Heading toward Saiko lake in Yamanashi. Always a pleasant drive on the way there. Painfully long traffic jams on the way back :(
While cleaning my photo archives (still) I found this little gem : a view of Tokyo Tower from the highway, shot while driving, with an EF70-200/f4L at 200mm ! That’s what one could call a lucky shot :) Perhaps my favourite shot of Tokyo Tower.
Driving on the small side roads of Normandy. No particular destination, only avoiding main roads to explore the countryside and find nice photographic spots.
Given the right car and the right amount of traffic, driving in the mountains of Japan can be a lot of fun. My favourite one is the Nihon Romantic Highway near Nikko: a one way road up the mountain, two lanes for yourself, pure fun ! That wasn’t romantic though : on the way down ...
Driving 200km North East West of Tokyo brings you to an area with astonishing landscapes… More tomorrow :)
Around 400km in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture… beautiful sceneries, delicious food, relaxing onsens ! Get ready for a week of pictures from that short trip :)
The Zilla App is totally useless… and therefore essential :D
Whenever I drive by these two towers in Tokyo, they always remind me of the WTC Twin Towers.
Latest addition to Tokyo’s collection of skyscrapers. Need to go there to check the Sky Lobby out !
On our way to Izu for the Golden Week : night, rain and traffic jams !
Bored at a traffic light in Tokyo…
Two hours drive from Sapporo’s Shin Shitose Airport to Niseko… A nice landscape and a lot of snow on the way !
On our way to Owakudani. This time we had the snow socks with us. Quattro with summer tires helps to climb the hills but is of no use to stop or to turn ;-)
A crowded highway is not a playground to practise evasive manoeuvres !
Beating the weekend traffic in Tokyo means getting up at 06:00 and leaving home at 07:00.
The fee for taking the highway on a weekday in Tokyo has gone up from ¥700 to ¥900 !
Easier for me to shoot when turning left ;-)
