You know, for the kids ;-) The digital age makes it possible for my daughter to enjoy the very same cartoons I enjoyed as a kid 30 years ago !
Our last lunch in Hokkaido before flying back to Tokyo : salmon-ikura-don. Not too bad for airport food. Come to think of it, you can often get excellent food at the airport in Japan !
Naoko enjoying her second year in beautiful Niseko. They broadcast some music on the ski tracks, so that’s why she also dances :D
As promised, some photos of one downhill run with my 5D in hand. Niseko really is an excellent place for skiing. In Annupuri, the tracks are wide, the snow is good and it’s a lot less crowded than on the other side of the mountain (Hirafu).
First lunch in Hokkaido, less than 15 min after landing ;-)
Take off from Haneda, bound for Sapporo in Hokkaido… Flying over Tokyo now means noticing one more thing in addition to the Mt. Fuji in the background : Tokyo Skytree ! Inside the cabin, there’s also another thing to notice : the smile of the Air Hostesses :-)
First step of our winter holiday : take a flight for Hokkaido in Haneda. Well-groomed, friendly, polite and efficient staff makes flying definitely less painful !
Back in Tokyo after 4 wonderful days of skiing and snowboarding in Hokkaido. Probably going to take us a week to recover from awfully aching muscles ! So in the coming week, stay tuned for more pictures of Niseko and apologies in advance if you don’t like snow, food and skiing… :D
Something fun in our bungalow in Vietnam. They call it Bali Style !
Straight from the camera. After a bit more than a month, I can now say that I really like my 50mm/f1.2L ! On par with another favourite lens of mine, the 16-35mm/f2.8L.
Phew ! My 356 best shots from Vietnam – where we spent Christmas – are now online… Have a nice weekend everyone. Back to work on Monday on my side !
Truly an amazing place to visit in Vietnam. More images »
The Jade Emperor Pagoda in Saigon is dark, smoky, dusty and frankly a bit spooky !
The 50mm/f1.2L in action in the Cho Ben Thanh Market (follow the link for a complete gallery). I hesitated a lot before leaving for Vietnam : should I bring the 24-105mm only or 16-35mm + 50mm ? Well, I opted for the later and when looking at the photos, I think it was a good ...
Hard to keep track of how much you’re actually spending with so many digits ! Hopefully, that’s not where the Euro is heading…
My best shots of this remarkable hotel in Saigon.
Back from 8 wonderful days in Vietnam with around ~950 photos to sort… In the meantime, here is one of a beautiful sunset in Mui Ne ! More to come… :)
The famous omelette at Mont Saint Michel. Not that good to be honest.
Coming soon :-)
My daughter’s first movies experience in a movie theater : Kung Fu Panda 2, in Singapore ! We all liked it at least as much as the first one. Highly recommended :-)
