Take off from Haneda, bound for Sapporo in Hokkaido… Flying over Tokyo now means noticing one more thing in addition to the Mt. Fuji in the background : Tokyo Skytree ! Inside the cabin, there’s also another thing to notice : the smile of the Air Hostesses :-)
First step of our winter holiday : take a flight for Hokkaido in Haneda. Well-groomed, friendly, polite and efficient staff makes flying definitely less painful !
Arrived safely in Hokkaido :-)
Enjoying the final approach towards Paris.
The cabin lighting of the A380 features programmable multi-spectral LEDs capable of creating a cabin ambience simulating daylight, night, or levels in between. Quite nice I have to say!
Upper Deck of an A380 (here Air France). Thanks to the curvature of the plane, all window seats on the upper deck benefit from a storage compartment, quite nice!
As promised, some nice photos of the cockpit of an A380, shortly after landing in Paris CDG.
Boarding an A380 from Air France in Paris (AF276) and Tokyo (AF275). No additional hassle despite the large number of passengers. On the contrary, since boarding proceeds in parallel on two decks, it was actually quite fast. Coming next, some photos of the cabin and the cockpit ! :-)
A380 photos coming soon (including some very nice cockpit shots!)… but first have to sort the whole bunch of holiday pictures.
DL1845 from ATL to JAX.
DL280 from Narita (NRT) to Atlanta (ATL). Was actually supposed to leave one day earlier but there was some overbooking. I managed to negotiate the conditions under which I would give up my seat : $400 in cash + upgrade to business :) Flat bed is really nice, you can sleep on your tummy !
Brand new, free WLAN, comfy chairs and – in some areas – extremly close to the taxiway :)
Quite an improvisation from JAL staff: tissue box taped on a cupboard. Good example of Kaizen!
Bound for Paris. Estimated flight time 12h30min. JAL is obviously trying to reduce expenses. Service was somehow disappointing. Worse than I remembered and worse than my usual carrier for Europe (AF). Both JAL and ANA have foot rests in economy: useless to rest your feet, disturbing to stretch your legs. I really hate those… Actually ...
That’s what I call a decent screen! Note the power plug on the right and USB port on the left :-)
Today’s ride: A330 from Beijing.
Bound for Jeju Island.
Waiting at Narita Airport…
Here I come.
