More platform shots from Tokyo.
Akihabara station always provides me with a great light for some nice platform shots !
Large factories have always fascinated me. If only we could visit them all !
Little sunday stroll among the electronic shops and maid cafés of Akihabara. Even though Akihabara has changed quite much with its little electronic shops disappearing and maid cafés multiplying, there is one thing that does not change : the otakus !
A blatant demonstration of why one should always carry his/her camera : a group of pretty Japanese girls dressed in Kimono waiting for their train in Iidabashi.
Shinkansen ride back and forth between Tokyo and Okayama. Why Okayama ? Closest stop for Naoshima :) Also a good opportunity to try shooting a video with my 5D mark III. Not too bad but not too good either : visible distorsions (Jello Effect) on nearby objects when reaching 250km/h.
With the 5D Mark II, it was difficult to take a photo without going unnoticed… Shutter noise is not an issue any more with the Mark III : there’s now a silent shooting mode :)
Japan’s secret for clean streets, clean stations, clean underground, clean shops : cleaning !
Somewhere unrdeground in Tokyo.
Perhaps my favourite shot from last Sunday.
Originally bought for the wife, now worn by the daughter !
On a sunny day, nothing quite like JR Akihabara station for some nice platform shots :)
Commuting with JR in Tokyo can be fascinating (and not only for a 5 years old as pictured above). There is often a large glass at the back of the driving cabin, allowing passengers to see what’s happening in the cabin, as well as the train tracks.
Entering JR Station at Suidobashi.
Another attempt to increase my stock photography collection ;-)
Some wild hair moves on a JR platform in Akihabara !
Some arrows on the floor of JR Station in Akihabara.
The world’s most expensive and Tokyo’s deepest subway line : Toei Oedo Line (as low as 48 meters below ground at points, 40.7 km completely underground, including three underground crossings of the Sumida River) !
Two photos taken right after getting off the train in Akihabara : quite like them :)
Another addition to my collection ;-)
Going down Iidabashi station to reach the platform.
