As always when it rains in China, finding a taxi at the railway station in Xian was quite challenging. So to avoid waiting too long under the rain, we settled for an illegal taxi: expensive and uncomfortable, luckily the ride was short.
This time we decided to avoid riding the plane (too much of it on a yearly basis anyway) and give the train a try between Beijing and Xian: eleven hours ride, leaving Beijing at 21:30 and arriving in Xian at 8:30. Around 400 CNY each for a 4-berth soft sleeper cabin: not too expensive, quite ...
